MATCHBOOKS AND MATINEES...

I save Movie Stubs because I'm embarrassingly sentimental and they tend to help me navigate the murky places where pools of memory accumulate. I pull one out of a jacket or an old wallet and suddenly, I'm transported - not into the frames of the picture itself, but rather into the frames of my own memory - far away from the repository of clumsy gibberish that all too frequently passes for human interaction. I find myself hurling homeward; back into that sacred space where dreams are cinematic, peppered with vibrant colors. A place where all Art is a Higher Calling - an act of love toward the entire human race.

Maybe I'm a blushing sentimentalist, but it's the way my strange little brain remembers.
